PURPOSE:To smoothly transfer a glass bottle onto a glass bottle conveyor at a high speed, by driving the lifting frame, grip energizing device, and releasing and holding device provided around a conveyor to move a group of glass bottles on the net of a lehr. CONSTITUTION:A group of glass bottles 5 are transferred to a holding position A by the lehr net 2. The lifting frame 6 is lowered by a cylinder device 7, the gripping action of a bottle gripper 27 is energized by the energizing force of a plate spring 33 through the gripping member 38 of a link 15 and a closing arm 35, and the bottles 5 arranged horizontally in a line are simultaneously gripped. The lifting frame 6 is then raised by the cylinder device 7, a chain 12 is driven by a motor 13, and the gripper 27 is transferred directly above a position B. The lifting frame 6 is then lowered by the cylinder device 7 to lower the gripper 27 to the releasing position B, an opening arm 32 is opened by a releasing member 39, and a group of glass bottles 5 are distributed onto the bottle conveyor 3 and transferred.
