PURPOSE:To transfer a high grade printed character at a high speed, by forming a heat-meltable ink layer into a double-layer structure wherein a meltable ink layer based on wax is set to an inner layer and a meltable ink layer based on a thermoplastic resin is set to an outer layer. CONSTITUTION:An electric resistance layer is provided to one surface of an electric insulating film through a metal membrane layer and a heat meltable ink layer is provided to the other surface thereof or a metal membrane is provided to one surface of an electric resistance film made of a resin kneaded with an electric resistance powder and the heat-meltable ink layer is provided to said membrane to form a current supply type thermal transfer ribbon. In this case, the heat-meltable ink layer is formed into a double-layer structure wherein a meltable ink layer based on wax is set to an inner layer and a meltable ink layer based on a thermoplastic resin is set to an outer layer. Wax may be either natural one or synthetic wax with m.p. of 40-100 deg.C. |
