PURPOSE:To realize the formation of an adhesive tape which has good water resistance and can be readily torn on hand, by using specified materials respectively as warp and weft to form a support tape for an adhesive tape. CONSTITUTION:This adhesive tape is formed by providing an adhesive layer at least on one side of a support tape woven of warp and weft. This support tape has a texture wherein the weft consists of a polyolefin multifilament and the warp consists of a high-melting multifilament containing monofilaments having a melting point higher than that of the polyolefin multifilament by at least 10 deg.C. A synthetic resin laminate layer is provided at least on one side of this support tape. As the polyolefin multifilament, a polypropylene multifilament is preferably used from the viewpoint of water resistance and physical strength. As the high-melting monofilament for the warp, a polyester, polyamide or acrylic monofilament is preferably used.
