<p>PURPOSE:To enable the recovery of a high purity metal such as electrolytic copper from a soln. contg. silver, by immersing an electrode of a metal as the principal component of the soln. as the cathode and an insoluble electrode as the anode in the soln. and by electrolyzing the soln. with the weak electric current so as to previously remove the silver from the soln. CONSTITUTION:An electrode of copper as the principal component of an electrolytic soln. as the cathode and an insoluble electrode of C, lead or the like as the anode are immersed in the electrolytic soln. contg. about 30-60g/l copper, about 20-200g/l free sulfuric acid and 0.02-0.1g/l silver. The electrolytic soln. is electrolyzed with weak electric current to deposit the silver on the cathode. By this deposition, the soln. is efficiently desilvered. When the desilvered copper soln. is electrolyzed, electrolytic copper contg. little silver can be recovered. More efficient desilvering is carried out by stirring and/or circulating the electrolytic soln. during electrolysis.</p> |
