PURPOSE:To quickly and accurately execute the prediction, by measuring inner wall temp. in every time interval at the prescribed position and finally executing generalized judgement by plural means predicting, etc., when summary value of parts showing positive values in the temp. differences, etc., exceeds the expected value. CONSTITUTION:The temperature difference at the inner wall is measured in every the prescribed time interval by thermometers set at the prescribed positions in a blast furnace. One means or more among three means, such as the first means predicting lowering of the furnace heat when the summary value of the positive parts in this temp. differences exceeds the expected value, the second means predicting based on the negative parts as the same manner as the above and the third means predicting when the sum total of running average values during the time in the above positive parts exceeds the expected value, are provided. Further, the fourth means based on solution loss carbon quantity and the fifth means based on nitrogen content in the top furnace gas, are provided. And, when the prediction is executed by the first-the third means or by the fourth and the fifth means at the same time finally the lowering of the furnace heat is predicted.
