PURPOSE:To obtain the title prepolymer which can give a cured product prominently excellent in water resistance, by copolymerizing a specified fluorinated allyl carboxylate with a diene compound. CONSTITUTION:A fluorinated allyl carboxylate (A) of formula I (wherein X is a 6-14C perfluoroalkenyl), e.g., a compound of formula II, is solution- copolymerized with at least one diene compound selected (B) from among conjugated and nonconjugated dienes, e.g., diallyl terephthalate or diallyl (iso) phthalate, and, optionally, an ethylene compound (C) at -80-250 deg.C in the presence of 0.1-10wt.%, based on the monomer, radical initiator (D) in a solvent (E) such as an aromatic hydrocarbon to obtain the title prepolymer of a number- average MW of 1,000-50,000 and iodine value of 10-95, containing at least 1wt.% repeating units of formula III and repeating units each derived by cleaving one double bond of the diene compound to leave another double bond.
