PURPOSE:To prevent lowering of processing speed, by disabling transfer of character to a printer if a value in an up-count register is higher than a count at a time point when a character pattern requisition is demanded by a character generator. CONSTITUTION:A register 3-4 at an operating section 3-3 detects existence of a reset signal being fed from an application program. If there is a reset signal, the register 3-4 counts up. A register 3-5 is holding a count at the time point when a fault signal is produced from a printer 4. A comparison circuit 3-6 compares the values of the registers 3-4, 3-5. and if they are equal, character pattern is sent from a character generator to the printer while if they are not equal, sending of character pattern is disabled. Consequently, lowering of processing speed can be prevented in this control system without requiring judgement of character at the printer side.
