in which n is 1 to 4, R represents H, C1-C12-alkyl, C5-C8-cycloalkyl, phenyl or C7-C9-phenylalkyl, R<1> represents H, C1, C1-C4-alkyl or C1-C4-alkoxy and R<2> is an n-valent hydrophilic group, are particularly suitable for the stabilisation to light of ink jet prints. In this context, the compound of the formula I is added to the recording material, preferably in a surface coating. Such compounds also have the advantage that they form particularly stable emulsions.
