<p>The invention relates to a cylinder lock with plate tumblers. The lock according to the invention is characterised in that the notches and projections (8, 110, 11a, 111, 111a) of the key (6, 107) which work simultaneously on the two sides of the key (6, 107) are at a constant mutual distance in a transverse plane, the tumblers (9, 102) having orifices (4, 104), the largest dimension of which corresponds to this distance, so that the key (6, 107) acts on the tumblers (9, 102) so as to form a constant passageway for positioning the thus guided tumblers (9, 102) in their active or inactive position.
