PURPOSE:To permit continuation of halftone patterns under whatever printing pitch by providing an interconnecting means which connects cyclic patterns superimposed by an overlapping means and cyclic patterns inserted by an insertion means. CONSTITUTION:A character pattern corresponding to a character code indicated by an array counter N is read from ROM 2, and this character pattern is rotated to be stored into FNTBF 72. Halftone patterns from a line indicated by FSL to the 31st line among the contents of AMFNTBF 75 is read, and these read-out patterns are overlapped starting with a head line. Judgement whether the contents of FSL represent '0' or not is determined. If determined as '0', the contents of FNTBF 72 are printed, since the full pattern of halftone characters is already formed. On the other hand, if determined negatively, halftone patterns from the 0 line to a line indicated by the contents of FEL among the contents of AMFNTBF 75 are overlapped on the remaining lines of FNTBF 72, since the halftone formation is underway. Thus the contents of FNTBF 72 are printed and this is a rotary printing of halftone characters. |
