PURPOSE:To maintain activity at center of a furnace and to stabilize the blast furnace operation, by detecting the furnace condition by inserting a sonde having heat resistant mechanism from a tuyere arranged at lower part of the blast furnace and making feedback of the information to the blast furnace operation control. CONSTITUTION:The condition of the furnace center 12 is measured by the sonde 6 inserted from the tuyere 4 in the blast furnace 2, to detect the activity of the furnace center. This activity is detected by the temp. in the furnace center 12, observation in the furnace and inserting resistance of the sonde into the furnace center 12. And, when the detected information exceeds the controlling standard, by suitably changing charging distribution, coke ratio and furnace heat action, etc., cleaning is executed to the furnace center 12, to maintain the activity to the sound condition. Further, in the attached figure, raceway in the furnace in No.8 and molten basin in No.10 are respectively shown.
