PURPOSE:To obtain a immobilized enzyme, by bringing a water swelling resin containing an anionic dissociative group into contact with an enzyme in the presence of water at <= the isoelectric point of the enzyme and then treating the enzyme immobilized resin with ammonia and/or an amino compound and a dialdehyde compound. CONSTITUTION:A resin which contains an anionic dissociative group such as carboxyl group, sulfonic group, phosphate group, etc., and properties of absorbing 10-1,000 times as much water as its own amount by weight and swelling in water and an enzyme are allowed to stand for tens minutes - several hr. at 0-40 deg.C in a state wherein pH of the contact system is adjusted to <= the isoelectric point of the enzyme to immobilize the enzyme to the resin. The enzyme immobilized resin is treated with 0.1-100% based on the resin of ammonia and/or amine compound containing three or more active hydrogens and 0.1-300% dialdehyde compound at pH 5-9, preferably pH 5-7 so that the enzyme is embedded in the resin and surely immobilized to the resin.
