PURPOSE:To obtain a compact ink jet recording device with superior printing stability by permitting a pouch-like container to be fixed at the upper surface of a pouch-like container in an ink cartridge. CONSTITUTION:A pouch-like container 5 consisting of flexible metal foil or plastic film accommodated in an ink cartridge 3 is constituted in such a manner that is may be fixed on the upper surface 8 of said pouch-like container, and the ink cartridge 6 is almost horizontally set against the center of a nozzle 7 without any significant water head difference. A fixing part of the pouch-like container 5 and an ink cartridge case 6 is composed of adhesive layers such as epoxy resin, organic solvent and adhesive. Consequently, the pouch-like container or ink cartridge is stably fixed regardless of their materials. The bottom of the pouch-like container is pulled downward by a pressure P3 caused by the weight of an ink inside the pouch-like container 5. This results in the generation of a slightly negative pressure applied to the ink in the container, and subsequent elimination of an overflow of the ink from the nozzle 7. |
