PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for an end housing and a tie bar, and to miniaturize the whole mold clamping device by mounting a specific link mechanism between a fixed plate and a movable plate. CONSTITUTION:When a hydraulic cylinder 40 is operated and a crosshead 38 is shifted in the left direction in the figure, a first short link 22 hinge-coupled with the crosshead 38 through a driving link 35 is turned in the counterclockwise direction by using a pin 30 as a fulcrum, and a second short link 24 is also rotated by employing a pin 34 as a fulcrum. Consequently, an angle theta formed by the first short link 22 and the second short link 24 is increased, and tensile force is worked to a first long link 18 and a second long link 20. When the crosshead 38 is further moved, the pin 30, a pin 32 and the pin 34 are positioned on approximately a straight line, the rotational displacement of the short link 22 and the short link 24 is converted into a minute axial displacement of the long link 18 and the long link 20, and large tensile force works between a fixed plate 10 and a movable plate 12, thus clamping force may be acted on a fixing mold 14 and a movable mold 16. |
