A rake-wheel, for a haymaking machine, comprises a rim 3 carrying a plurality of tines 4, the tines having coiled portions 8 which extend parallel to the rake-wheel axis and which are secured to the rim by members 6 lying along the coils, each member having a stop 12 disposed along the side edge of the rim 3 to prevent turning of the member and the coils about an axis radial to the wheel. In the form shown, each tine is double and comprises a pair of crop-engaging legs 7 and coils 8, joined by a U-shaped portion 9 clamped to the rim by a bolt 5. Each member 6 is T-shaped and is clamped to the coils by the bolt5, the free ends 12 of the member being bent over to engage the edges of the rim below the coils. In a modification (Fig. 4, not shown) two superimposed T-shaped members are employed for each tine, the lower member having deformations to engage the rim and both members having their outer edges bent over to embrace the outermost coils. |
