The pin distributor of a ten pin bowling alley comprises a main ramp 4 receiving pins base-first from the pin elevator 1, together with eight auxiliary ramps (not shown) extending transversely from the main ramp and each leading to a recess in the pinsetter mechanism of the alley. Each auxiliary ramp comprises a pivoted lever extending into the main ramp and serving to divert a pin into the said auxiliary ramp, the pin, as it travels down the auxiliary ramp, pivoting the lever away from the main ramp to allow the following pin to enter the second auxiliary ramp, and so on. Thus eight pins are seated in recesses in the pinsetter and the levers are held away from the main ramp until the pins are released from the pinsetter. The ninth pin slides the full length of the main ramp 4 to pivot the part 6 thereof and enter the recess 19. Tilting of the part 6 uncovers an opening 49 provided in the main ramp, allowing the tenth pin to enter the recess 20 in the pinsetter. |
