PURPOSE:To increase the capacity of data information, and besides, to improve an access speed, and to speed up a reproducing speed by providing a control block and directory block in a part of recording area. CONSTITUTION:The recording area on an optical card 1 that is a recording carrier consists of plural bands 3, and an information track 4 constitutes a block 15 inside the band 3. The leading band 3a and the tail band 3b are used for the directory area, and the leading block is made to be a control block 15a, and a part of the following block is made to be the directory block 15b, and in the control block 15a, the information to identify said card is recorded, and in the directory block 15b, the information to identify respective files is recorded. Thus, track number area comes unnecessary and a data information recording capacity increases, and at the same time, an object recorded data can be quickly accessed.
