PURPOSE:To surely detect the abnormality of a program by starting execution of the program after setting the value corresponding to the program at a program working time monitor timer. CONSTITUTION:The software running on a CPU 1 produces the monitor time value together with a time monitor instruction and performs the control so that a time monitor instruction is produced again before said monitor time value is transmitted or a time stop instruction is produced. The produced instruction is decoded by an instruction processing part 11 and both the time monitor instruction and the monitor time value are informed to a microprogram control part 12. Then the monitor time value is set at a time monitor timer 13 and at the same time a time monitor valid FF 14 is set. When the timer 13 is counted up, a signal is sent to a diagnosing device 2 via a gate 15 for start of a diagnosing job.
