PURPOSE:To test the stability of the aggregate of concrete or mortar in a short period by using a testing device which constitutes a wet-and-dry cycle wherein heating by infrared-ray radiation, drying by dehumidifying wind, and watering are combined at an optional time. CONSTITUTION:A base 2 such as a wooden duckboard is provided to the bottom part in a test tank 1 whose top surface is covered with a glass filter 1a which transmits infrared rays, and a body 3 of concrete to be tested is mounted on the base 2. Piping 4 having many watering nozzle 5 is arranged at the upper part in the tank 1 and an air blast port 7 is provided to the flank of the tank 1. Then the surface of the body 3 to be tested is heated with radiant heat from an infrared lamp 21 and humidified and dehumidified by an air conditioner 31 with a heat pump. Then the lamp 21 is turned off, the air conditioner 31 is stopped, and water is injected from the nozzles 5. Then the body is placed in a high-temperature and high-humidity state by the lamp 21. This wet-and-dry cycle is repeated to test alkali aggregate reaction.
