PURPOSE:To obtain a development restrainer releasing compd. for photography having an excellent developer releasing speed by using a specific phenolic compd. CONSTITUTION:The development restrainer releasing compd. for photography expressed by general formula I or II is used. In formulas, R1, R2, R3 and R4 respectively denote a hydrogen atom. or substituent. At least one among R1-R4 denote a group which exhibits a development restraining effect by elimination in a developing stage. R5 and R6 respectively denote a hydrogen atom., alkyl group, aryl group or heterocyclic group. However, there are no cases when R5 and R6 are simultaneously hydrogen atoms. R1 and R2, R3 and R4, as well as R5 and R6 may form a ring by bonding each other. A denotes a hydrogen group or a group which can be eliminated under alkaline conditions. The excellent development restrainer releasing speed is obtd. and the effective impartation of the development restraining effect to a silver halide photographic sensitive material is permitted if the above-mentioned compd. is used for said photosensitive material. |
