PURPOSE:To obtain a carcinogenic promoting substance inhibitor, containing cycleanine, isoliensinine, neferine and/or O,O-dimethylliensinine as active ingredients and having extremely powerful inhibitory action on carcinogenic promoting substance. CONSTITUTION:A carcinogenic promoting substance inhibitor containing cycleanine (formula I), isoliensinine [formula II (R1=R2=H)], neferine [formula II (R1=CH3 and R2=H)] and/or O,O-dimethylliensinine [formula II (R1=R2=CH3)] which are bisbenzylisoquinoline type alkaloids and expressed by formulas I and II (R1 and R2 are as follows. R1=R2=H; R1=CH3 and R2=H; R1=R2=CH3) as active ingredients. Furthermore, the dose of the above- mentioned active ingredients is 10-1,000mg, preferably 30-300mg per day in the case of oral administration.
