PURPOSE:To provide a ventilation device having a cleaning mechanism for kitchen which comprises a cross-flow fan for ventilation into the room by installing a grease filter to the air inlet and deodorizing and cleaning by a cleaner which can readily be replaced through an access opening and comprises deodorant and adsorbent agent. CONSTITUTION:The soot which is drawn first passes through a grease filter 3, The grease is removed there, and the removed grease is recovered in a container 4. The air passing there is deodorized in a cleaner 5 by the deodorant and adsorbent agent in it, and the cleaned air is blown into the room by a cross-flow fan 6. The cleaner 5 can readily be replaced through an access opening 9. With this ventilation device, there is a wide space over the range 1, which can be used to install hanger shelves. In such an instance, a heat insulation plate 7 is installed for protection from the range 1. This is a ventilation device which allows the usage of the space over the range and has a cleaning mechanism.
