PURPOSE:To easily contrive the selection of a desired genre from lots of programs by decoding a teletext signal, applying selection the genre as to the stored program so as to control memory write or readout of the decoder. CONSTITUTION:A video signal from a TV receiver B is processed by a teletext signal decoder section 10 and a teletext data is stored in a memory 21. A storage control section 11 stores a program requested by the user and the program data selected by an operation section 12 is latched. The program data stored in the storage device 30 is converted into a genre signal by a display section 13 and displayed on the CRT 39. The selected and latched program data and the teletext program data are compared and when they are coincident, the teletext data is stored in the memory 21. The stored data is read according to the output from the selected program latch circuit 32 and the teletext data of the selected genre is displayed on the CRT 39.
