PURPOSE:To obtain a copolymer, having improved gloss, appearance of molded articles, fluidity in injection molding and impact strength and suitable as a resin material for thin-walled molded articles having complicated shapes, by containing a specific copolymer as a continuous phase and a rubber-like polymer as a dispersed phase. CONSTITUTION:The aimed copolymer containing a copolymer of a styrene based monomer with an acrylonitrile based monomer as a continuous phase and a rubber-like polymer as a dispersed phase. The copolymer has S-B-S type blocks of styrene chains (S) and butadiene chains (B) and contains 5-35wt.% copolymer rubber having 10-30wt.% styrene content and 2-19 cP viscosity of a 5wt.% styrene solution at 25 deg.C, etc. The copolymer has the following physical properties. The average particle diameter (Xmum) of the above-mentioned rubber satisfies formula I and 65-92wt.% copolymer consists of (y+z) pts.wt. copolymer of y pts.wt. styrene based monomer and z pts.wt. acrylonitrile based monomer (y and z satisfy formula II). The copolymer which is the continuous phase contains <0.5wt.% part having >=1,000,000 molecular weight and <0.01wt.% part having >=1,200,000 molecular weight.
