PURPOSE:To eliminate useless operation by providing a storage means storing destination information storing terminal equipment characteristic of a communication opposite terminal equipment and a means transmitting/receiving the information so as to replace the destination information. CONSTITUTION:A facsimile main body 20 has a CCU 30 to attain the data transmission/reception to/from a hard disk 50. At the transmission side, a document start command is used to set an identifier representing a document sent succeedingly is a control document The succeeding document transmission command sets the ID representinng the destination information as the identifier by using a communication line subscriber number on the disk 50 as destination information. When a document identifier of the document start command received at the receiver side is the control document and the succeeding document transmission commands receives the ID, the data of the destination information stored in the document transmission command is compared with the destination information of its own terminal equipment and the unregistered information is to be registered.
