PURPOSE:To surely and easily collect the memory dump of a desired region by generating a memory dumping routine which reflects a memory capacity and a bit of system generating information, and writing it to an auxiliary storage device. CONSTITUTION:A storing region checking means 1 checks whether a floppy disk loaded to a floppy disk device 8 is to write a memory dumping routine or not. When it is decided to be the floppy disk to be written, subsequently, a memory dumping routine generating means 2 generates a memory dump collecting region table 9, based on the information of the memory capacity of a main storage, recognized by a memory capacity recognizing means 4, and system generating information 5, and also, generates a memory dumping routine by linking a source memory dumping routine 6. Subsequently, a memory dumping routine writing means 3 writes a generated memory dumping routine to the floppy disk.
