PURPOSE:To transport automatically empty pallets with a simple construction by providing a slide member held by a truck capable of traveling from a paper supply section to a paper discharge section to extend laterally, a holding plate held movably by said member, a drive unit for the holding plate and a lift for the slide member. CONSTITUTION:A truck 9 is stopped at the side of a paper supply section, a slide member 17 is lowered, an empty pallet holding plate 19 is moved toward an empty pallet 4 on a paper supply section pile and inserted below the empty pallet 4. Then, the slide member 17 is lifted by an air cylinder 18 and the empty pallet holding plate 19 is withdrawn to draw out laterally the empty pallet 4. Thereafter, the truck 9 holding the empty pallet 4 is moved along a printing press to a paper discharge section 3, and by the reverse operation to the paper supply section can be set the empty pallet 4 onto the paper discharge section pile. Thus, the empty pallet 4 can be easily provided and automatically transferred from the paper supply section to the paper delivery section 3 with a simple construction.
