PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition containing an alkoxysilane, an acid such as acetic acid, an alcohol, water and an oxide such as SiO2 having specific particle size and useful for forming a corrosionproof film and electrically insulating film having high heat-resistance on the surface of iron, cement, glass, plastics, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is composed of (A) 10-40pts.wt. of a silicon compound of formula RSi(OR')3 (R is hydrocarbon group; R' is alkyl), (B) 10-80pts. of an alcohol, (C) 10-80pts. of water, (D) 0.01-3pts. of acetic acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, formic acid, propionic acid or maleic acid and (E) 5-60pts. of SiO2, TiO2, Al2O3, Cr2O3, ZrO2, Al2O3.SiO2, 3Al2O3.2 SiO2, ZrO2.SiO2 and/or Si3N4 having particle diameter of <=5mu.
