AUTOMATIC PHASE CORRECTOR

PURPOSE:To automatically correct the phase of by-phase data so as to minimize an error rate by controlling the resistance value of a variable volume element to execute the phase correction of the by-phase data by an error signal obtained by comparing a detecting signal and a reference signal showing the size of the error rate of a reproducing digital signal. CONSTITUTION:The signal of an error rate observing terminal 38a is supplied through a buffer amplifier 39 to a detecting device 40. The detecting device 40 executes the detecting processing and for example, executes the AM-detection of an error rate signal. The detecting output is supplied to a comparator 41 and compared with a reference value. As this result, the output (control output) in accordance with the difference between the detecting value to show the size of the error rate and the reference value is obtained from the comparator 41 and this is impressed to a variable resistance 34 as a resistance value control voltage. The resistance value changing direction of the variable resistance 34 is controlled in the direction in which the error rate comes to minimum. Like this, by correcting automatically the phase of the by-phase signal in an equalizer circuit part A so that the error rate can be minimum, the error rate is decreased even to every tape.
