PURPOSE:To effectively enable removal of inclusion by absorbing on the weir surface by containing magnesia grain having the specific grain size at the specific quantity in the weir for a tundish. CONSTITUTION:In the weir for tundish, the magnesia grain having <=0.1 mm grain size is contained at least >=10 wt.%. It is obtd. by casting and forming the castable kneading material adding suitable quantity of water together with necessary binder to the above refractory raw material in a mold having the prescribed shape to impart bonding at room temp. In this way, it is reacted with Al2O3 inclusion in molten steel, and removal of the inclusion absorbed the weir surface as generating MgO.Al2O3, etc., is effectively executed.
