PURPOSE:To enable a machine to attain automatized operation even for long period machining, by using a roll-shaped electrode serving as the electrode and providing a mechanism which automatically supplies a consumed amount of the electrode further rotates it in the machining. CONSTITUTION:Feeding a roll-shaped electrode 1 through various kinds of rollers 8 and electrode flection correcting rollers 8a, the electrode 1, which passes through an electrode supply cylinder 9 and a clamping plate 10, is fed out to the bottom end of an electrode supply device 11. And here the electrode 1, when it passes through a guide 4 being set to a predetermined length, is fixed by the clamping plate 10. The electrode 1, in which the whole unit of the electrode supply device 11 rotates by a driving source, performs machining by the vertical motion of a main spindle 6. The electrode 3, when it decreases to a predetermined length or less, is supplied by a specified length by the electrode supply cylinder 9. Here a supplying pawl 14 is placed in a clamping condition, when the electrode is supplied, and in an unclamping condition when the supplying pawl 14 is pulled back. While the clamping plate 10 in placed in an unclamping condition, when the electrode is supplied, and in a clamping condition when the supplying pawl 14 is returned.
