PURPOSE:To realize the arithmetic calculation of arbitrary number of digits, by applying to correction on the digit in the process of finding a partial remainder, and applying the correction on an obtained quotient and a remainder. CONSTITUTION:In the division algorithm of a fundamental software field in an electronic computer, no correction is applied on the digit even when over subtraction occurs in the process of finding the partial remainder, and the correction is applied on the obtained quotient and the remainder. Also, the digit is obtained as finding a quasi-partial quotient and a quasi-partial remainder.
