The invention relates to a device making it possible to hold, in a functional manner, the ends of a cord used to align construction elements, mainly in the building industry. The device is made up of a component comprising a part forming a hook and capable of being attached onto the materials. This component bears a cleat for fixing the cord and a channel for guiding and positioning the cord. The whole device comprises a component at each end of the cord; it ensures that this cord is held, tensioned and positioned correctly in relation to the plane under construction. <IMAGE>
