PURPOSE:To attain the detection of an index at the reverse setting of a disc by arranging the 1st index detector in accordance with the position of an index detecting window of the disc and the 2nd index detector on a position to be point-symmetrical with respect to the rotational driving center of disc of the 1st index detector. CONSTITUTION:When the disc is reversely set up on the device, the index detecting window 22 is opposed to the 2nd index detector 100 and a record protecting notched part 23 is opposed to the 2nd record protecting part detector 110. Therefore, an index detecting signal is generated from the 2nd index detector 100 and fed to a computer and the opening/closing status of the notched part 22 is detected by the 2nd record protecting part detector 110 and the detecting signal WBS is supplied to the computer. Even if the disc is reversed, the index and the record protecting part can be detected in the same manner as regular setting, so that normal recording/reproducing can be attained. |
