PURPOSE:To obtain a metal sheet having uniform shape and surface characteris tic by measuring sheet thickness along the width direction of metal sheet, which is cast, and controlling an applying quantity of coating material applied on the surface of a cooling drum along the width direction of the cooling drum. CONSTITUTION:The sheet thickness of metal sheet 5 sent out from roll gap part 4 is measured by plural thickness meters 6 arranged along the width direc tion. The measured plate thickness is inputted into a controlling device 7 as a signal, and by operating in order to compare between the inputted sheet thickness signal and the setting value, the deviation is found. The deviation found by the controlling device 7 is inputted in a flow rate adjusting valve 10 arranged in the piping 9 and by this method, quantity of the coating material injected on the surface of the cooling drums 1a, 1b from nozzles 8 is controlled. That is, when the thickness of the metal sheet 5 at the position measured by the thickness meter 6 is thinner than the setting value, the quantity of the coating material injecting from the nozzle 8 is reduced for reason that the growth of solidified shell 3 is insufficient. |
