PURPOSE:To simplify the arithmetic processing in a camera by processing the data intrinsic to a lens varied by a manual operation to the lens by the computer in the lens. CONSTITUTION:A detecting member DET moves on a zoom code plate ZD cooperatively with the zoom operating ring of a lens barrel and contacts the pattern on the code plate ZD according to a set zoom state. The detection signal (zoom signal) thereof is transmitted to the sub-microcomputer L1 of the lens. On the other hand, information on full diaphragm is stored in a ROML3. The microcomputer L1 makes computation based on the output of the code plate ZD detected by the member DET1 according to the full diaphragm information and the zoom state and outputs the result of the computation to a diaphragm driver AD1 when the microcomputer L1 is abled. The driver AD1 drives the aperture AP1 by the command from the microcomputer L1. The intrinsic data of the lens is processed by the microcomputer L1, by which the arithmetic processing in the camera is simplified.
