PURPOSE:To permit adequate announcement of the timing for exchanging parts to be used by providing an integrating meter to a device for photoelectrically reading the information on the radiation image recorded on a stimulative phosphor panel. CONSTITUTION:An integrating hour meter 18 for measuring the use time of the device is provided to the device. The measurement data obtd. by said meter is sent to a correction data generator 19. The correction data generated in the generator 19 is transmitted to a high-voltage power supply 12 for a photomultiplier 11, a light beam generator 6, an arithmetic circuit 16, etc., to adjust the respective parts thereof. The output of a semiconductor laser, the sensitivity of the multiplier 11, a digital arithmetic processing method, etc., are thereby adjusted, by which the sensitivity over the entire part of the system can be adjusted. On the other hand, a warning to urge the exchange of the semiconductor laser is generated at the number of the read sheets corresponding to the total lighting time which is the life of the semiconductor laser if the hour meter 18 is replaced with an integrating counter to count the number of the read sheets.
