The linking device consists of a control rod in two parts 31, 40. One of the parts 31 is articulated onto the brake pedal 25 and the other 40 is linked in an articulated way to the brake assistance mechanism 35. These two distinct and separable parts 31, 40 are situated in the extension of each other and include engagement means interacting to constitute the assembly of the control rod. The mounting of the braking control device is greatly facilitated, the support 26 of the brake pedal 25 being capable of being mounted in the passenger compartment 23 totally automatically. This support 26 may be one of the components of a pre-assembled assembly including all the elements of the driver's position. <IMAGE>
