PURPOSE:To make it possible to divide a basic graphic into finite elements even if the number of divisions of respective sides of the basic graphic is changed by dividing at least one face of the basic graphic into the face group of a three-side shape by a segment obtained by a vertex of the basic grahic as starting point or funishing point. CONSTITUTION:A three-side shape group dividing means 4 is constituted of a basic graphic face three-side shape group dividing means 5 dividing a face being graphic to be processed into aggregated faces of the three side shade, a three-side shape checking means 6 having a means for inspecting the geometric information of the three-side shape and a means for inspecting phase information and a three-side shape optimum deciding means 7 having an inspecting and trying means to execute three-side shape division by a three-side shape face group dividing means 4 so that any two out of the number of divisions of respective sides of the three-side shape are equal and the number of division of all segments newly formed at the time of dividing a face are equal. Consequently, finite element dividing data can be formed by elements reduced at their distortion.
