The invention relates to a closure for a bottle or the like, having a cap-shaped holding part with an inwardly pointing projection or collar for engaging behind an outer bead of a bottle neck, and having a sealing part which is separate from the holding part, is connected thereto, and has an annular sealing surface for contact against an end face of the bottle neck. The sealing part is connected to the holding part via an elastic element or is itself of elastic construction in such a way that an overpressure valve is formed. If the closure closes a bottle neck, the holding part rests under the tension of the elastic element on the upper edge of the bottle neck. It opens under a pressure predetermined by the spring tension such that no impermissibly high pressure can occur. As a result, a bottle can never burst, which can lead to accidents and hazards. <IMAGE> |
