TENNIS LINE SENSOR (TLS)

Electrical contact strips (1-5) laid along the boundaries of the court send defined signals to an indication via a controller when struck by a ball. Each strip consists of two electrically conducting materials separated by an intermediate film. The resistance between the materials, e.g. foils, varies in a defined way depending on the area and duration of the contact. When the contact has finished the original conditions are restored. Separate strips can be used to generate separately identifiable signals and to achieve independence of the ability of each part to respond.
