PURPOSE:To accurately measure a steering angle by providing a position adjusting means for conducting longitudinal positioning between wheels and steering angle measuring means in accordance with the positions of the wheels detected by position detecting means and correcting positional deviation in a longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:An instrument is composed of position detecting means 169 for detecting the longitudinal position of a wheel supported on full float type turn tables 50 and 150 and position adjusting means for conducting longitudinal positioning between the wheels and steering angle measuring means 60 and 160 for measuring the steering angles of the wheels in accordance with the positions of the wheels detected by the position detecting means 169. Thus, when the wheels are moved together with the tables 50 and 150 and longitudinally deviated relative to the means 60 and 160, positional deviations are detected by the means 169 and, in accordance with the positional deviations, the longitudinal positioning of the wheels to be means 60 and 160 is conducted by the position adjusting means, so that the wheels can be located in correct positions in response to the means 60 and 160 and steering angles can be accurately measured. |
