The present invention makes available universal insulating half-shells which are bent at right angles and are intended for right-angled pipe bends with different bend radii and bend ends. The insulating half-shells bent at right angles are configured on the inside such that in each case two such shells can enclose any pipe bend, suitable for one pipe thickness, irrespective of the curvature thereof, the ends of said insulating half-shells being configured such that they come to bear on the pipes which are to be insulated.
