PURPOSE:To avoid the increase in the number of component parts and to detect a wheel speed by a simple constitution, by detecting that the protruding part of a part to be detected passes in the vicinity of a detection part. CONSTITUTION:A front wheel hub 2 is mounted on a drive shaft 1 so as to be engaged with the outer periphery thereof and a disc plate 3 is fixed to said hub 2. The brake parts contact part 3a of the plate 3 is held between the brake pads 5 fitted to a disc caliper 4 from both inner and outer sides of a car body and a brake is operated. A part 6 to be detected having protruding parts 6a formed thereto so as to be arranged at a definite interval is provided to the internal part of the contact part 3a in the circumferential direction thereof. Especially, the sensitive part 7a of a detection part 7 is opposed to the part 6 to be detected so as to provide a definite interval and the detection part 7 is mounted to a knuckle 8 being a fixing part so as to be always present at a predetermined fixing position. A magnetic flux is emitted to the part 6 to be detected from the detection part 7 and the change in an output cycle due to the protruding parts 6a of the part 6 to be detected is generated with the change in the rotational speed of a wheel and said cycle is sensed by the detection part 7 to detect a wheel speed.
