<p>Mechanism adapting automatically and constinuously the stepping-down ratio to the engine torque/charge torque ratio, solely by means of the natural meshing of a pinion system, with spur-toothed and conical, simple and double toothing. The toothing of all the gears is determined in such a way that when the planet wheel (11) ceases to rotate, the gear slips of the differentiated planet wheels (3, 7), relative to the rotating speed of the driving shaft (1) are of the same value, one positive, the other negative. When the reaction torque at the output is lower than the driving torque, stability is regained by reducing the stepping-down until the output torque equalizes that of the input (direct drive). Application of mechanism as fitting to any dynamic machine, particularly to provide automobiles with continuous variation trans mission.</p> |
