<p>A CCD includes additional cells to collect and isolate charge due to transfer inefficiency and a summing gate which is operated so as to cause each residual charge packet to be added back into its immediately preceding signal charge packet just prior to the signal charge packet being delivered to an output device. The output device converts the signal charge packet to a voltage. By means of this structure charge transfer inefficiency is reduced.</p> |
