In an optical plug-in connector for optical waveguides having a coupling element (sleeve) through whose end sides two plug pins can be plugged into the hollow cylindrical interior, the plug pins are each assigned to the end of an optical waveguide cable, at least one clamping element being assigned to the outer surface of the coupling element, with which clamping element wall areas of the outer surface of the coupling element can be displaced locally with respect to one another. In order to ensure in a simple way that the plug pins which are being plugged into the coupling element (sleeve) are secured, a clamping element which exerts pressure in a radial or central fashion on the outer surface of the coupling element is used.
