PURPOSE:To reduce an operator's burden by constituting the titled device so that when the same character and editing command as the limiting condition set in advance by an operator has been inputted, it is informed to the operator, and its input is neglected. CONSTITUTION:First of all, an operator sets a condition that its use is not allowed, to a limiting condition setting part 1. Subsequently, the limiting condition which has been set by the limiting condition setting part 1 is stored as code information in a limiting condition temporary storage part 2. Thereafter, when the operator has inputted a character and various editing commands from an input part 3, an input limiting part 4 compares a code stored in the limiting condition temporary storage part 2 and a code of a character and an editing command which have been inputted, and when the inputted character and editing command have coincided with the character and editing command which cannot be used, a warning is generated from a display part 6, and its input is neglected. In such a way, a document can be prepared by using only a desired editing function.
