To obtain a self-supporting construction element, a structural element for radiant panel heating or cooling systems is proposed in which there is provided, as self-supporting sandwich construction, a load-bearing heat-conducting plate 1 forming the upper chord and a load-bearing lower plate 2 connected to the latter at a distance therefrom in a manner resistant to shear. A heat-insulating layer 4 is arranged between the two plates 1 and 2. Ducts 3 for the heat transfer medium are provided on the underside of the heat-conducting plate 1.
