One pulley part (1) is supported by the pulley shaft (3) and the other annular part (2) is supported by the first part. The two are pressed together by socket (8) mounted springs (7) spaced uniformly on the pulley surface. The two parts are held apart by a variable thickness spacing ring (12) and ball bearings uniformly distributed along the pulley periphery on the side opposed to the cable winding arc. Some ring surfaces are flat and some are inclined so that as the ball bearings come sequentially into play the spacing force is always parallel to the pulley axis. |
